Welcome to Get Connected! (7/4/2009)

"Get Connected" is a web-based mechanism to connect local youth and families with positive, pro-social, community-based activities and opportunities that are offered throughout the Lin-Wood, Newfound, and Pemi-Baker areas to engage, enrich and connect local residents. In rural New Hampshire, there are buried treasures in the people and activities that are available, buried because of our rural life that limits public media outlets to inform all residents of these opportunities. With limited local television and radio, and only a weekly newspaper in our areas, knowing about what's out there is half the battle (we won't take on public transportation just yet -- call a neighbor for a ride!!).

"Get Connected" is a website that co-locates information relevant for area youth and families, with everything from social service agencies and discussion groups to swim clubs, archery ranges, organic farms, and hiking trails. We are always digging for more treasures, so if you know of something that should be here but isn't (and consider what YOU may have to offer!), drop us a note at info@getconnectednh.org. "Get Connected" is the outcome of over a year of community dialogue and asset-based trainings that served to remind many of us residents and service providers in our area of the wonderful opportunities within our towns that promote wellness, economic stability, social capital, civic engagement, and community -- so take a moment or ten to consider your talents and strengths or those of your children, meander through the many resources collected herein, and discover what's out there...and GET CONNECTED"
